"Leading with Purpose"
What is the SGA Executive Board?
At Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, the Student Government Association exists for one purpose: to strengthen the student experience by ensuring students are represented, protected, and heard in the decisions that shape campus life. The SGA Executive Board is the central leadership table where that mission becomes action. It is where priorities are set, where responsibilities are owned, and where student needs are translated into real services, real projects, and real outcomes.
What the Executive Board Does
Convening weekly, the SGA Executive Board reviews special requests brought forward to the SGA, makes decisions on large expenditures, drives special projects inside the SGA and alongside campus partners, and directs the coordinated work of the organization as a whole.
This is not leadership for ceremony. It is leadership for results. Much of the SGA’s impact happens behind the scenes, but its influence is felt in the everyday student experience, and in the advocacy that occurs when student leaders engage university administration on the issues that matter.
Who It Is Composed Of
The Executive Branch of the SGA is composed of the SGA President, Vice President, Treasurer, Chief Justice, and Division Chairpersons working together to ensure the overall mission of the SGA is carried out.
To ensure the work is executed with consistency and professionalism, the Executive Board is supported by four appointed positions that help keep operations running smoothly and strengthen communication between the SGA and the student body.
Accountability and Partnership
The Executive Board also benefits from guidance and continuity through three university staff advisors who support effective operations, alignment with university resources, and productive coordination with campus officials.
An Inspiration to Students
If you care about your experience here, your voice has a place at this table. The Executive Board is strongest when students bring forward their ideas, their concerns, and their expectations. Because student government is not something that happens to you, it is something built with you.
