Hi, my name is Mackenzie Champney, and I am passionate about creating a campus environment where every student feels supported, connected, and heard. My leadership journey began in high school, where I served in multiple roles, including vice president of my class, president of my band, and captain of both the alpine ski racing and chess teams. Through these experiences, I learned how to lead diverse groups, adapt to different perspectives, and communicate effectively. I also completed over 400 hours of community service, strengthening my commitment to serving others and giving back to my community. At Embry-Riddle, I serve as Electronics Communications Director for Alpha Xi Delta, am involved in Women in Aviation, and work as a campus tour guide, allowing me to connect with students and represent our university. Inspired by my dad, who taught me to listen more than I speak, I strive to lead with intention.

I am Ashmin Oberoi, a senior at Embry-Riddle, passionate about leadership, community, and making a tangible impact on student life. Throughout my time on campus, I have taken on a variety of leadership roles, including serving as a Housing Residence Life Senator and contributing as a Resident Advisor, where I developed skills in communication, advocacy, and building inclusive communities. I have also been actively involved in organizations such as NSBE, SHPE, ISA, and ERSSA, taking on diverse responsibilities that allowed me to plan events, lead initiatives, and ensure student voices are represented. My experience with the Embry-Riddle Technical Review (ERT) further strengthened my abilities in teamwork, project management, and problem-solving. Through all of these experiences, I have learned that meaningful change comes from listening, taking initiative, and leading with purpose. I am committed to continuing to make student life more engaging, inclusive, and responsive for everyone.

Hey! I’m someone who’s deeply passionate about bringing people together and advocating for more moments where people are truly present in our world and can stumble into a room and say, “Woah… I really like this.” As an individual who prefers staying off digital environments, I’ve noticed a lack of social opportunities where we can be truly curious about the plethora of things we have in this industry and finding someone who shares that same interest can get daunting. Honestly some of my favorite experiences over here have been when I just do something spontaneous and talk to random people (which I love doing even if it means losing some sleep) and learn about their experiences. I aim to leverage my background in media and logistics from school to make sure that I can create events that help you bump into conversations that may alter the path you take.

Class: Junior
I’m a Junior Aerospace Engineering student from Toronto, Canada, and I’ve grown through leadership roles in NSBE, currently serving as Vice President. I’ve also served as Membership Chair, where I learned the importance of bringing students together and making sure everyone feels included. Outside of school, I’m faith-driven, love playing piano, and stay active through boxing. I’m running for Student Life Senator because I want to use my experience, energy, and passion to make campus life better for everyone. My mission is simple: to create a campus where every student feels they belong, are supported, and can thrive.
