Senate: College of Engineering

Allyson Wigton

Major: Aerospace Engineering
Hometown: Mansfield, Ohio
Class: Senior

My name is Allyson Wigton, and I am an upcoming senior in Aerospace Engineering. I discovered my interest in engineering in sixth grade and chose to pursue aerospace after my freshman year of college. I transferred to Embry Riddle for its strong opportunities and supportive environment. I was especially drawn to the smaller campus, where I can take engaging classes, build closer relationships with professors, and be involved in organizations such as Sigma Kappa, the Hypersonic Design Team, and Design Build Fly. I also wanted access to the networking and career opportunities Embry-Riddle provides. In high school, I served as president, vice president, and treasurer, gaining experience in leadership and event planning. These experiences motivate me to run for senator, where I hope to support engineering students through programs and events that help them succeed and stay connected.

Steve Nguekeu

Major: Aerospace Engineering
Hometown: Douala, Cameroon
Class: Junior

My name is Nathan, an aerospace engineering student from Douala, Cameroon, driven by faith, purpose, and a passion for leadership. I currently serve as the Conference Chairperson for NSBE, where I manage logistics, prepare members for national conferences, and help students maximize internship and professional growth opportunities. Through my involvement in engineering projects and leadership roles, I have developed strong skills in teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. Being an international student has shaped my ability to adapt, connect with diverse perspectives, and lead with resilience. Outside of school, I enjoy playing basketball, working out, and spending time with friends, which keep me grounded and focused. I am running for the College of Engineering Senate because I believe in serving others, making an impact, and building a stronger, more united engineering community where every student has the opportunity to succeed and lead.

Parth Thakar

Major: Aerospace Engineering
Hometown: Cherry Hill, New Jersey
Class: Sophomore

My name is Parth Thakar, and I am an aerospace engineering student at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a strong focus on hands-on engineering and real-world application. I am actively involved in student projects, including my work with ERPL, where I collaborate with other engineers on complex design and manufacturing challenges. Through these experiences, I’ve developed a deep understanding of the obstacles engineering students face, from accessing resources to navigating project logistics. I am running for this position because I want to bridge the gap between students and administration and advocate for meaningful improvements. My goal is to ensure engineering students have the tools, support, and representation they need to succeed both in the classroom and in their technical pursuits.

Rutuja Kelkar

Major: Aerospace Engineering
Hometown: Edison, New Jersey
Class: Freshman

I am a freshman majoring in Aerospace Engineering in the Honors Program and am passionate about fostering community and working together to solve problems. Serving on Student Council in high school taught me how to plan events, listen to the needs of students, and unite people around common objectives. I've maintained that momentum since arriving at ERAU by participating in a number of groups and communities that honor culture, camaraderie, and student support. I enjoy coming up with workable solutions that improve people's experiences, whether I'm assisting with event planning, collaborating with colleagues, or supporting outreach programs. I'm a person who genuinely enjoys being a part of a team, shows up, and communicates clearly. I want to represent engineering students in the College of Engineering Senate with the same vigor, inventiveness, and dedication.

Martin Jeveaux

Major: Aerospace Engineering
Hometown: Jupiter, FL
Class: Sophomore

My name is Martin, and I am entering my sophomore year studying Aerospace Engineering. From a young age, I’ve been passionate about space and engineering, a curiosity encouraged by my parents and driven by a desire to understand how things work. Growing up in Florida in a German-Brazilian household, I developed a strong ability to connect and communicate with people from diverse backgrounds. On campus, you can find me involved with the Tennis Club and ERFSEDS Prometheus. I’ve always been someone who gets involved and builds on my strengths, bringing determination and tenacity to everything I do. I hope to bring that same energy to the College of Engineering Senate, ensuring student voices are heard and expanding resources that support both academic and professional success.

Vaidehi Saini

Major: Aerospace Engineering
Hometown: Virginia
Class: Freshman

I am Vaidehi, an Aerospace Engineering student at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a background in leadership and engineering collaboration. I previously served as Student Body President in high school, where I led initiatives and represented student voices. Growing up in Kenya and working in diverse environments has shaped my ability to understand different perspectives and connect with people. At ERAU, I serve as Outreach Officer for the NASA Micro-G NExT team, assist in the CDSL lab here at ERAU, and have contributed to the Johns Hopkins APL Planetary Landing Challenge. I am running for College of Engineering Senator to better represent students, improve communication, and help create a more connected, supportive, and career-focused engineering experience.
