
Dr. Jeff Brown was selected as the second Honors Program Director and began in this role on January 1st, 2024.
Jeff Brown received his bachelor's and master's degree in civil engineering from the University of Central Florida in Orlando. In 2005, he received his Ph.D. from the University of Florida with a research emphasis on the rehabilitation of existing civil infrastructure with composite materials. Other research interests include nondestructive evaluation using infrared thermography and the durability of composites.
Between 2005 and 2013, Dr. Brown served as an assistant and then associate professor of engineering at Hope College in Holland, Michigan. In addition to working on a variety of civil engineering related research projects with undergraduates, he also served as the faculty advisor for the Hope College student chapter of Engineers Without Borders USA.
Dr. Brown's current research activities at ERAU involve the performance and structural health monitoring of composites used to strengthen existing reinforced concrete structures. He is also interested in the scholarship of teaching and learning within the context of undergraduate civil engineering education and service learning.

Amy Williams received her Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Virginia Teach. She received her Master’s and Ph.D in Materials Science and Engineering from University of Florida with a research emphasis on engineering education and critical thinking. Other research interests include first year programing, problem based learning, and qualitative analysis.
After receiving her Ph.D., Dr. Williams worked in publishing supporting digital textbook design and development. Between 2017 and 2019, Dr. Williams served at ERAU in the First Year Programs Office. In 2019, she transitioned with the advising team to serve as an engineering advisor in the Office of Undergraduate Advising until 2024. She has been in the honors program since August 2024. She has worked on student support programming within honors and prior to being in honors including but not limited to academic success workshops, summer events (like a pool party or inflatable event), teaching UNIV 101, overall advising initiatives, and various honors programming.
She has a passion for students and was drawn to support Honors students to help them reach their potential. She seeks to get to know each student with their diverse backgrounds and interests and be a key part of their connection to ERAU and their growth
Dr. Williams has a passion for serving others and the community (not just students). She enjoys theme parking, playing with her dog - Max, and spending time with her husband traveling and finding new adventures.
