Founded in the Fall of 2005, the Lady Eagles Baja SAE Team designs, builds (from scratch), tests, and races a single-seat, off-road Baja car. This is one of a few all female led Baja teams in the world. Every year, we attend an international competition sponsored by the Society of Automotive Engineers, SAE. Competition is a truly unique experience where you learn to think on your feet, contribute to a team effort, and network with other teams from across the USA and around the world. Taking the Baja car to competition tests and evaluates the design, providing insight to improve the car. The competitions are sponsored by different universities or companies every year, so it is also an opportunity to travel to different parts of the country. This year we are designing and building a new vehicle and are looking for new students from any major to join our team. If you are interested in being part of a club of hardworking students, being involved in a hands-on engineering project, want to find somewhere to hang and meet new people, and be a part of an amazing team who likes to have a lot of fun, this is the club for you. Everyone is welcome, although we are committed to helping female students gain leadership opportunities and experience in a primarily male led field by keeping our team officers female. No automotive experience is necessary; we will teach you everything you need to know about building a Baja car. Come join the fun!
