This project presents the design calculations and methodology for a highly efficient HVAC system for a three-story outpatient medical facility in Manchester, England. The Design Load Calculations, part of the ASHRAE Design Competition 2025, was undertaken by a small team of engineering and business students from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. The team's approach involved comprehensive research into ASHRAE standards, UK-specific regulations, and sustainable design practices. Utilizing advanced software tools and industry expertise, the team is developing an innovative HVAC solution that prioritizes energy efficiency, occupant comfort, and regulatory compliance. The design process will incorporate detailed heating and cooling load calculations, life cycle cost analysis, and adherence to ASHRAE and UK standards.
