About

The Apostles of the Sacred Heart, or "ASH", is an FSSPX collegiate group established in 2024 at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) to serve the growing number of Catholic students interested in practicing the Catholic faith as it has always been practiced. Our organization is under the guidance of priests at St. Thomas More Priory in Sanford, FL.

Student Membership

While anyone may attend public ASH events, such as our weekday Rosary or Traditional Latin Mass in Daytona, only ERAU students may join as official members. Continual membership requires the attendance of at least one prayer or liturgical event per month. Members are also able to join us for organizational meetings open to all students.

Student Leadership

"The apostle without interior life, and, therefore without humility, will be at the mercy of his passions."
- Jean-Baptiste Chautard, The Soul of the Apostolate

Leadership positions in ASH are not the same as any other college club. In addition to regular responsibilities, ASH leaders must perform or renew their Total Consecration to Mary, pronounce an engagement to the Apostolate, and subsequently follow a prayer life built around an ardent love for the Sacred Heart, including daily reading and mediation, weekly recitation of the Stations of the Cross, monthly Holy Hour, and daily recitation of parts of the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The practice of prayer and meditation is designed to foster a sound interior life in all ASH leaders, so that they may become instruments of God. This can only be accomplished through the three ascents outlined in our mission statement: Obedience, Humility, and Sacrifice.
