Kamusta FSA!

We hope that you all have had a wonderful start to the Fall semester! In this newsletter, you will find meeting information and some important announcements.

Annoucements/Updates:

The newly elected Executive Board met for the first time on September 6th and covered a lot of topics. 

  • Dates for all meetings have been set and scheduled. Those dates are listed below in the "Dates" Section.
  • A new logo has been commissioned and was just approved by the school. You will see the logo on the left-hand side of this email. We hope you all like it!
  • The FSA Budget Packet is underway and will be submitted soon to the SGA so we can fund some of our events and materials. 
  • We are planning on partnering with other RSOs (SASE) on possible volunteering activities. We will speak more about this soon.  
  • Committees: We are looking for more members to join the Events and Public Relations Committee. If you are interested in event planning, making flyers, social media, and marketing for FSA, Joining a committee is the best way to do so. These committees are led by the Events Officer and Public Relations Officer. If you would like to join a committee, you may do so on discord, or by contacting the mentioned officers (Their emails are shown on the left side under "FSA Executive Board"). 

Dates

- Fall Food Fundraiser

We will be hosting our first fundraiser of the semester where we will be selling Lumpia, Pancit, and some Drinks. If you are interested in helping with this event, reach out to Zack DeLeon (Events Officer) on discord. 

  • When: Tuesday, September 17th
  • Time: 12-3pm (Event)
  • Setup: 10-11:30am 
  • Where: West Lawn Pergola

- Fall General Body Meetings (GBM)


The fall GBMs will be held on the 4th Tuesday of every month at 7pm
  • GBM #1
    • Date: September 24, 2024
    • Time: 7pm
    • Location: The Chambers (SU 210)
    • Activity: Game Show - Pinoy Henyo
  • GBM #2 and #3
    • October 22 and November 26
    • Time: 7pm
    • Location: New Res 1 Multipurpose Room
    • Activity: TBD (Send any activity Ideas to Zack DeLeon)

- Fall FSA Executive Board Meetings (EBM)


Fall EBMs will be held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7pm. These meetings are open to all members, but attendance is not required. 
  • EBMs 
    • Dates: 9/17, 10/1, 10/15, 11/5, 11/19, 12/3
    • Time: 7pm
    • Location: SU 435 Conference Room

- Fall Events


Fall Events will be held on the 2nd Tuesday of certain months. These events will be external to meetings where we will do fun activities (Karaoke, Tagalog Lessons, Tinikling Lessons, Etc.). Event planning is still underway and an announcement will be made soon once events have been finalized. If you are interested in helping with event planning, join the "Events Committee" on discord. 
  • Possible Dates: October 8th, November 12th

What you can expect during our first general meeting

We will keep this meeting short and simple. We will introduce you guys to the New Executive Board, Talk about the plans for the club, and vote on a few minor bylaw changes. Following the meeting, we will host our version of a game show, playing Pinoy Henyo.
