Hey First_Name, The Avion would like you to attend a paid conference experience in October!

We hope your summer has been awesome so far. Your Executive Board has been meeting and working towards a successful upcoming year, and we'd like to thank you for all your continued help with O-Issue, our Photo Editor special election (welcome, Kyle!), and many more projects that we have underway.

It's time to talk about an exciting benefit of your staff status in this division. Conferences! At the end of October, The Avion will be sponsoring a delegation to the Associated Collegiate Press' "MediaFest22" - the Fall National College Media Convention in Washington, D.C. How exciting!!
 

What's this all about?

To quickly summarize, the "ACP conference" (as we'll call it) is the largest gathering of college media publications just like us, in the United States. ACP hosts a number of conferences each year, with a main focus on the National College Media Convention which happens in Spring and Fall. In fact, we sponsored a delegation to the Spring conference a few months ago! You'll hear a lot about those staff members' experiences in the Fall.

Anyways, the conference is made up of more than 100 breakout sessions, convering topics from photography, media relations, writing, graphic design, administration, and more. Sessions are led by industry professionals, and you will leave the experience with lots of ideas, inspiration, and valuable knowledge that you will share with us, upon your return. You're pretty much guaranteed to find sessions that you'll be interested in, so please consider attending.

Right here. This form has more information on conference details, expectations, and some commonly asked questions. The deadline to indicate your interest is on Friday, August 19, 2022. Gathering an idea of who's interested by that date allows us ample time to select the 5-student delegation, and confirm important travel and registration details.
 

Closing

Staff, this is an opportunity that does not come by often, and is one which is unique to a school such as ours. Our division is praised for the quality of our production, and a conference such as this allows you access to an experience, and information like no other.
