Dear Professors and Students,

I hope this email finds you well. For those who don’t know me, I am Wasee, an Aerospace Engineering Junior and the President of our newly established Bangladeshi Student Association (BGSA) at Embry-Riddle. Along with our dedicated team and the support of our advisor, Professor Rumia Sultana, we officially founded the BGSA as a Registered Student Organization (RSO) last semester.

Our goal is to create a space where we can come together as a community, reconnect with the nostalgia of home, and celebrate the culture that unites us. As a small yet passionate group, this is an incredible opportunity to build a "home away from home." While I understand how busy we all are with our individual lives and commitments, running this organization and hosting events requires everyone’s ideas, effort, and enthusiasm. Together, we can make this a meaningful initiative that represents Bangladesh and promotes our rich culture.

Each semester, the SGA Treasury offers full reimbursement for ONE social or recreational event for RSOs hosted on campus. To take advantage of this, we need to submit a budget packet to the SGA Treasury by Friday, January 31st, 7 PM. This packet must be well-prepared and signed by the President, Treasurer, and Advisor of the club.

I’m reaching out to you for help in brainstorming ideas for our first event:

Theme: What type of event should we host?
Date/Location: When and where can we hold it on campus?
Attendance: How many people can we expect to participate?

Please share your suggestions by Monday, 3 PM, so the club officers and I can review them with our advisor and start preparing the necessary paperwork for submission. Your input is invaluable to ensuring our event reflects our collective interests as a group.

A few additional notes:

While only one event per semester is eligible for full reimbursement, we can host additional events using funds from membership fees and asking for partial reimbursement, do fundraising activities (like selling food on campus), or other creative initiatives. Let’s also discuss whether we want to implement a membership fee to support more events in the future.

The size of our group in CampusGroups impacts the funding we receive, so your membership matters, even if you’re unable to participate actively at this time.
