Just because you are a minority doesn't mean you have to fight to have your voices heard, gain access to resources, or begin a life-changing mentorship.
We are here to help with that.
Valkyrie will aim to change the atmosphere on campus towards women by fostering open and honest conversations. We hope to create an environment that women on campus will feel comfortable sharing challenges they are facing at ERAU, regardless of the situation.
Additionally, the organization hopes to give the female students of Embry-Riddle the tools and resources they need to be successful in their lives and in male-dominated fields. This includes academics, professional, and social aspects.
Valkyrie has a unique leadership structure and is comprised of various individuals both internally and externally to the university:
Executive Board (featured right): The main representatives of the organization
Faculty Advisors: Female faculty members dedicated to our mission.
ERAU Partners: Representatives from each department on campus who are dedicated to helping our members.
College Representatives: Current students from various degrees who can be used for guidance, support, and a general group of women to talk to.
Alumni Mentors: Alumni from ERAU who are willing to help our members and promote our mission here on campus.
Valkyries are a part of Norse mythology. They are the female warriors who chose who lived and died during battle, essentially "angels of death". After selecting who was to die, they escorted them to Valhalla, which was ruled by the god Odin.

Because of their incredible strength, wise decisions, and the high regard that Odin had for these warriors, the organization was named Valkyrie. We are the warriors who will pave the path for those who come after us, make wise decisions to not only better ourselves but the ERAU community, and who will be highly regarded at our campus for years to come.
