Mission Welcome to the Embry-Riddle Skydiving Club! The goal of this club is to introduce Embry-Riddle students to skydiving in a fun and safe way. Here is some general information that you might find helpful: (Please keep in mind that you must be 18+ with a valid license or passport to jump.)(All listed prices refer to Skydive DeLand.)>>Drop-zoneThe closest drop-zone is Skydive DeLand, which is located about 25 minutes from campus at the DeLand Municipal Airport. This is the drop-zone that the club operates out of and is where club members regularly jump. They offer jump discounts for Embry-Riddle students so make sure you bring your Eagle ID with you.Skydive DeLand: 1(386)738-3539https://skydivedeland.com>>First time / Tandems: For those interested in skydiving for the first time, going on a tandem is the perfect way to experience skydiving without needing any certifications. On a tandem skydive you are attached to an instructor who will jump with you from full altitude. A tandem can also help you decide if you want to move forward with AFF training to become a licensed skydiver.Cost of Tandem with ERAU discount:Tandem: $170Tandem with Video: $260>>Certifications / FJC / AFF The first step in the certification process is the First Jump Course (FJC). The FJC is taught on the ground in a classroom setting at Skydive DeLand. In this course you are taught the fundamentals of skydiving by a USPA certified instructor. After you complete your FJC, you will start Accelerated Free Fall (AFF) which is a 7-jump course. In AFF you will be jumping from full altitude with instructors at your side. Completion of AFF allows you to skydive solo.We recommend starting FJC and AFF when you have a week of free time. Currency is as important as proficiency!Cost of FJC+AFF with ERAU discount: $1280 (pay as you go) $1210 (pay upfront)>>Coach Jumps After graduating AFF, the next step is completing a minimum of two coach jumps with an instructor or coach-rated skydiver. On these jumps you will learn new skills and improve your proficiency in the air. These jumps will count towards your A-license certification process which will allow you to jump with other skydivers. The cost of coach jumps varies depending on who you choose to do coaching with. >>Joining the ClubOnce you have completed FJC, AFF, and 2 coach jumps, you can join the club! Club members have full access to club rigs and can attend club events throughout the semester. Club members also receive a discount on lift tickets at Skydive DeLand.
