About Us
Sigma Chi is a brotherhood that was created on June 28, 1855, at the University of Miami (Ohio). Every member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity strives to learn and live out the ideals of friendship, justice, and learning. Our vision is to become the preeminent collegiate leadership development organization — aligned, focused, and living our core values. Our mission is to develop values-based leaders committed to the betterment of character, campus, and community. The Sigma Chi Fraternity has done this through our 300,000+ members and 244 active chapters, making us one of the largest Fraternities in the world. The Eta Iota Chapter of Sigma Chi is the oldest Fraternity on campus, founded March 6, 1971. We also attained the only Fraternity house┬áat Embry-Riddle around that time, which we continue to improve upon. On campus, Sigma Chi's hold various leadership roles, from President of SGA to other various executive positions in other organizations. We┬áare also very┬áactive participants of intramurals, community service, and philanthropy. Throughout the semester, we will be hosting many different events, such as Derby Days, fundraisers, and numerous social functions. Friendships are a crucial component of the collegiate experience. Sigma Chi brings together individuals from diverse backgrounds to assist┬áone another┬áin the attainment of high-minded goals — a friendship of a higher order that we call brotherhood. Joining a Fraternity will not only change your college experience, but your whole life. If you are interested in joining, please fill out the "Potential New Member Form" under the forms tab.
