Welcome to Embry-Riddle's student chapter of the Society for Human Performance in Extreme Environments (HPEE)! This group was created for the purpose of bringing people together that are involved in EXTREME activities so that we may share ideas and experiences. The goal of HPEE is to "spread the word", lessons learned from one extreme environment can be applied to similar situations. HPEE defines extreme environments as: "settings that possess extraordinary physical, psychological, and interpersonal demands that require significant human adaptation for survival and performance" Examples include spaceflight, aviation, polar regions, mountains, underwater, deserts and many more. The ERAU student chapter is centered around recreational extreme environments, also known as "Extreme Sports". These activities can take place in air, water and on land. If you enjoy flying, sky diving, BASE jumping, bungee jumping, scuba diving, water skiing, surfing, rowing, mountain climbing, skiing/snowboarding, marathon running, cycling, motor sports, or any other type of extreme sport, JOIN US!
