Hey all!
Hope you are enjoying the last few weeks before we go back to the college grind! Fall semester planning is in full swing and the officer core has some awesome things coming your way!
Last month we submitted our set up fees for embrodiary and we will be having a polo and jacket sale for all members in mid September where you can get some custom ERAU HEMA apparel! We are also actively working on getting t-shirts made too so stay tuned for more updates on those!
We know the move in process can be stressful and hectic, and what better way to relieve stress that with some good old sword fighting! Given the timing of when we are all getting down there, we have set aside three days before the semester starts when we will be having practices! Those dates being: Aug 19th, Aug 21st, and Aug 23rd. If you can't make one of those practices but really want to get some training in before the semester starts, feel free to reach out to myself or Matthieu Privat and we'll work out a time with you!
New to HEMA this year are the addition of seminars! These events are open to all students and staff at the Embry-Riddle campus and will showcase a particular theory or topic through one of the HEMA club instructors or groups. Our first one is titled: "What is HEMA?" and will be on September 6th from 19:00-21:00. These events will be advertised both on the group page and with flyers so that way proper notice will be given to you all!
Lastly, activites fair is just around the corner (literally a month away!) and there are a lot of cool changes coming to our booth this year! Recently we have gotten some custom artwork done for one activites fair item and also have had a couple people working on a secret project that will be unvailed at activites fair! Want to know what is it? Come see us there!
Additionally, at this point I would like to ask you all to please consider volunteering some time on September 5th (tenative activites fair date) to help out with the HEMA booth. There are tons of people who are interested in what we do and we would love to have the help of some of our passionate members there!
That wraps up our updates for now, thank you all for taking a moment of your day to read through this and we hope to see you at one of our August practices which begin in 15 days!
Sincerely,
Benjamin E. Chaback
