Membership BenefitsActive on the Daytona Beach campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University since 1971, it is a privilege for us to advocate for the nearly 600 students who are members of one of our fraternities or sororities. Joining a fraternity or sorority provides a plethora of benefits. Members cultivate supportive relationships and close bonds with their respective chapter members and other members across the fraternity and sorority community. Holding membership in a fraternity or sorority is the one-stop shop for professional and personal development. Members work on skills such as leadership development, identity development, project management, communication, financial management, ethical & values-based decision making, service & philanthropy, strategic planning, marketing & public relations, cultural competencies, and much more. In addition to professional development, our members also actively participate in community service, giving more than 4,000 hours of their time every academic year. Our community prides itself on its historically strong philanthropic efforts. Every year the community raises over $100,000 for local and national organizations. Our community members are active in many other campus organizations and hold several leadership positions. Such as resident advisors, athletics, peer mentors, tutors in their respective majors, ROTC, and the Student Government Association, to name a few. Membership in these organizations exposes students to regional and national award-winning leadership programs hosted by their respective umbrella organizations. These programs connect them with thousands of alumni in diverse fields of studies, practices, and professions. In addition, research shows that active participation in Fraternity and Sorority Life boosts a student's connection to the university and the overall student body.
