The AcaFellas are a group of young talented singers at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. These young men are devoted to entertaining the community with their talented voices and harmonies. The group is split into four parts: Tenor 1, Tenor 2, Baritone, and Bass; Tenor 1 having the highest pitch and Bass with the lowest. With a large and diverse repertoire the AcaFellas put a smile on the faces of audiences all over Daytona Beach and Central Florida. The AcaFellas perform at weddings, banquets, large engagements, school events, and frequently sing the national anthem along with other patriotic songs.

The Airsoft Club at Embry-Riddle focuses on communication, team building, and most of all the enjoyment of the sport of Airsoft

We meet weekly to discuss the time and place for scrimmage games and also to discuss away games, large scale events, trips to stores, fields and other places of interest nearby, as well as time and location to work on personally owned equipment.  

No experience or equipment required.  Beginners and long time players welcome.  We have extra gear for those looking to try out our club available at no cost for the first few weeks.  We also organize trips to local stores to purchase gear.

The best way to contact us is through Instagram @erauairsoftclub. We meet weekly unless otherwise stated in room 114 in the College of Business, at 6 pm every Friday. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, we did switch to an online system using both GroupMe and Discord as forms of communication, with a larger presence on Discord. DM us on Instagram for details regarding our discord group and come meet with us in person. Most weekends we play at Airsoft Barracks in Jacksonville, Battalion Airsoft Arena in Jacksonville, and other locations depending on the interest of the group.

Alpha Omicron Alpha Aeronautical Honor Society (AOA) originated at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. Established by David Emanuel in fall of 1998, it  became an official chapter in the spring of 1999. The formation of AOA was the first of its kind, being the only honor society for college students pursuing a professional pilot career. The name of the organization, Alpha Omicron Alpha is taken from our motto, "Always in the sky, excel."

The purpose of AOA is to promote excellence, leadership, professionalism, and safety in aviation. The society gives its members greater opportunities in a highly competitive industry. We are a diverse group of students from many majors, who come together on Wednesday nights at 8 PM in COAS 204 to learn about the wonders of the night sky. Our activities range from general visual astronomy to semi-professional astrophotography.

The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) is the world's largest technical society dedicated to the aerospace profession and encompasses nearly 30,000 engineers/scientists and 95 corporate members. The Institute convenes yearly forums; publishes books, technical journals and Aerospace America; hosts a collection of 160,000 technical papers; develops and maintains standards; honors and celebrates achievement; and advocates on policy issues. AIAA serves aerospace professionals around the world by providing the tools, insights, and collaborative exchanges to advance the state of the art in engineering and science for aviation, space, and defense.

In addition to the professional membership, AIAA currently has over 200 active student branches, including 38 foreign student branches, with a total active membership of over 7,000 students worldwide. The Embry-Riddle Daytona Beach student branch is your base of operations in AIAA during your college years, and it's an open door to professional activities, recognition, and contacts that would otherwise be unavailable to students!

Students on campus are involved in two large scale aerospace projects, which include Design Build Fly and an astronautics project.

Design Build Fly is a international, AIAA competition in which teams fabricate and fly RC aircraft. Each year, a new set of rules outlining a design challenge is announced. DBF is a fantastic opportunity to get-hands on experience with aircraft design, fabrication, and testing. Meetings will be in LB133, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 5:30-7:30 pm.

In addition, our chapter's Astronautics Design Project changes annually. In previous years, projects included rockets and lunar landers. Currently, we are beginning design work for a rocket with an experimental propulsion system, affectionately known as Project VIPER, Vortex Integrated Propulsion Experimental Rocket. These projects are a great way to gain engineering and technical experience in the astronautics field. Meetings are in COA 260 Monday and Friday from 6:00-8:00 pm.

The American Sign Language Club is a Deaf culture-based student organization that encourages values and interactions to and from the Deaf community – in addition to teaching American Sign Language.
Even though the organization usually begins with members of varying knowledge of the culture and/or language, the club strives to build everyone a strong foundation of the language and history/background. Once basic communication skills are taught/acquired within the club, the club schedules outings and events for everyone to enjoy. Such events include:
-Silent dinners (dinners where anyone interested goes to a local restaurant to eat and bond with each other – speaking is discouraged within the participants)
-Silent movies (the club tries to attend completely signed and silent movies that are screened throughout the city)
-Signed performances (events that usually incorporate music, either played or sung, in which the club is asked to sign along with the music), trips (club sponsored trips to local Deaf schools to interact with the Deaf community), and guest speakers (the club now and then invites people to either teach a certain lesson or to talk about their life as hard-of-hearing/deaf people).

Overall, the club not only teaches the language and culture, but also hosts/cosponsors/interacts with other clubs and schools to spread awareness about the Deaf community and bring recognition to the organization and school.

The Arnold Air Society is a professional, honorary, service organization advocating the support of aerospace power. The "service" aspect is perhaps the foremost in the mind of many members, because of the society's continuing contributions to our campuses, our communities, and our corps–but it should always be remembered that our primary mission is to improve ourselves as future Air Force officers.

The following three objectives were adopted by AAS to enhance the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) and the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA), and to project the image of the United States Air Force on the university campus and in the surrounding community.

First Objective:
To create a more efficient relationship among Air Force officer candidates, in particular within the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps.

Function of the First Objective:

To provide opportunities for a greater interaction among collegiate level Air Force officer candidates and to encourage increased communication with Air Force officers and leaders in national defense, government, and industry.

Second Objective:
To aid in the development of effective Air Force officers.

Function of the Second Objective:

To provide more opportunities for Air Force officer candidates to exercise leadership, management, organizational, and public relations skills.

Third Objective:
To further the purpose, traditions, and concepts of the United States Air Force.

We are currently a small and upcoming club on campus, consisting of students from a variety of degree programs interested in sharing a better understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) problems, techniques for implementing their respective solutions, and keeping abreast of current developments in the domain.

AI focuses on the use of computers and how they can be effectively used to develop intelligent software and systems. When people think of AI, they typically think of the intelligent agents that can be found throughout culture, including Siri, HAL from Space Odyssey, or Cortana from the Halo video game series. But this only is one facet. Other sub disciplines under this area of computer science include natural language processing, robotics, and neural networks to name a few.

Our past projects have focused primarily on the implementation of AI in the context of games, including the development of Conway's Game of Life, Connect 4, and several flocking algorithms. And with a new school year in sight, we're looking to grow membership to be able to expand the number of active projects and to explore new sub disciplines of AI, such as pattern recognition, computer vision, and augmented/virtual reality environments. We also hope to acquire some hardware for use in these new endeavors.
