Mission We highly encourage people from all backgrounds to come take part in the Catholic Student Union to learn more about the faith and dive in!The Embry-Riddle Catholic Student Union (CSU) is formed upon three basic foundations: Spirituality, Service, and Social activities. The CSU provides spiritual growth for students of the Catholic faith and those interested in Catholicism. The organization enables its members to build a Catholic community through service and social activities. We hope to provide students with the basis to actively practice the Roman Catholic faith and grow in their relationship with God. Spirituality: The CSU works to help ERAU students grow in their faith and nurture their spirit during the formative years of their life. We offer many opportunities to support this faith formation like bible studies, prayer groups, retreats and other educational and spiritual growth programs. The Catholic Prayer room in the Center for Faith and Spirituality contains a tabernacle to provide a place for prayer and spiritual growth before the Blessed Sacrament.Service: Falling under the service aspect of our organization, we hold a strong emphasis on giving back to our local community. We have a position on the ministry board for organizing events to assist those less fortunate. A few of the service events we participate in include, collecting food for those in need, feeding the homeless at the Bridge of Hope, volunteering at nursing homes and providing manual service projects for the elderly and the Basilica of St. Paul. We also hold various fundraisers and participate in supporting local charities. Ten percent of the weekly collection each semester is donated to a charity.Social: A major aspect of the Catholic Student Union is enjoying good company, good food, and good fellowship. We have regular socials where we are able to bond as brothers and sisters in Christ while bowling, playing putt-putt golf, go-karting, or just simply enjoying a meal together. Additionally, after the 7:00 P.M. Sunday Mass, once a month, some of the local "People Of the Parishes" cook and serve us a "Meal Of the Month" called "POP-MOM."
