Mission This club investigates all aspects of biomedical engineering, including its subsets. Students are able to focus on all topics they see interest to produce student-led research projects to apply to grants/funding. We supplement all aspects of general engineering courses and Aerospace Physiology to maximize interdisciplinary education.Research: To further the biomechanical and biomedical research on campus, and create a group of diverse-minded individuals all interested in the further advancement of bio-technological innovations. Our mission is to make ERAU a more prominent school in the biomechanical and biomedical research world through our projects, papers, and conference submissions.Mentorship: To educate in specific skills (i.e., MATLAB coding) or subjects (i.e., anatomy & physiology) that students may not receive apart of their respective majors. Our mission is to encourage interdisciplinary studies and encourage communication through different colleges at Embry-Riddle.Community Outreach: To further advocate for STEM careers by becoming role models to K-12 students. We work with local elementary schools at science-specific events to teach students about STEM subjects. We hope to further our community outreach beyond our current practice, and encourage members to suggest ideas for more outreach.
Membership BenefitsStudents gain access to LB161-- the Biomedical Engineering Lab in the Lehman Building. The lab contains computers, 3D printer, anatomy models, and ample work-space for research projects. Students also benefit from the insight of their club peers, receiving student-led tutoring lessons in subjects of interest (e.g., anatomy & physiology and computer programing) for interdisciplinary projects. Students interested in research gain receive mentorship in research endeavors from experienced upperclassman.
