In 1893, ten young women at Lombard College in Galesburg, Illinois, shared a vision and a dream of a national organization dedicated to the personal growth of women. Their dream became Alpha Xi Delta, one of the oldest women’s fraternities in the United States. The timeless ideals envisioned by Alpha Xi Delta’s Founders remain constant throughout the years, inspiring pride in each member to pursue individual excellence. Now a national fraternity with more than 150,000 initiated members, our Fraternity is a progressive organization with college chapters and alumnae associations throughout the United States. Alpha Xi Delta is proud of its rich history and lasting impact on its members and the Panhellenic community. In fact, Alpha Xi Delta’s first National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) Chairman wrote the Panhellenic Creed, which all members of NPC still recite on college campuses today. Alpha Xi Delta inspires women to realize their potential by providing new opportunities for our sisterhood, leadership knowledge and service to grow. Since our founding in 1893, we have grown into a strong organization consisting of more than 150,000 initiated members. Sisters of our chapter hold important positions at our school, such as SGA members, Woman’s Ambassador Program Liaisons, and executive positions in countless other organizations. The mission of Alpha Xi Delta Fraternity is to enrich the life of every Alpha Xi Delta. We will: Nurture unity and cooperation. Foster intellectual, professional, and personal growth. Exemplify the highest ethical conduct. Instill community responsibility Perpetuate fraternal growth Alpha Xi Delta's national philanthropy is Autism Speaks. Alpha Xi Delta's around the United States have raised over $6.5 MILLION for Autism Speaks. Autism Speaks is dedicated to promoting solutions, across the spectrum and throughout the lifespan, for the needs of individuals with autism and their families through advocacy and support; increasing understanding and acceptance of people with autism spectrum disorder; and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions . The sisters of Alpha Xi are extremely passionate about this cause, and we do everything we can to donate and volunteer with Autism Speaks. Annually, Alpha Xi Delta hosts AmaXing Challenge events and the Xi Man Pageant, all in an effort to promote Autism Speaks. We volunteer at other events such as Surfers for Autism, Autism Speaks Walk, and raise funds for a local school, The Chase Academy. We also love to participate in other organization's fundraisers and support their causes! Once again, please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions!
