Semi-Weekly Newsletter - 7 Feb 2023
Team,
In an effort to continue improving how information is distributed to all, I figured I'd send out a semi-weekly Newsletter summarizing events for ERAU Offshore - welcome to the first iteration!
- Halifax Sailing Association (HSA) meeting 4 Feb
Additional Sailing opportunities to be had! Looking to learn how to sail, associate with locals & like-minded sailors, or just seeking additional venues to get out on the water? HSA is for you!
As students of ERAU you get a membership discount at HSA, which gets you access to their fleet (once qualified) and additional streamlining in growing ever-more nautical. They also have
Contact President Mario A. to learn more.
- Team Practice 5 Feb
It was a breezy day, and the Southern Collegiate Offshore Regatta (SCOR) crew was able to link up, hit the point, and ride some whelming swells! Plenty of tacks and jibes were had, and we were even able to raise the spin a few times before drenching it in Ponce waves. The SCOR crew is looking to get a final practice in this coming Friday after driving up to Charlotte, and then it's race time - wish them the best of success!
More info about SCOR is below.
- Budget is approved
That means it's time to work on Lively!
With finances settled, members and officers are encouraged to tackle projects of repair, refit, and general cleaning of Lively. Coordinate with Fleet Captain Steven C. to ensure tasks and items addressed are deconflicted!
- Upcoming practice weekend of 4 &/ 5 March
Throw it on your calendar, and as we get closer, depending on wether and condition of Lively, we'll send out a follow-up solicitation to see who can make it and determine the focus of training!
