The Lambda Kappa chapter of Sigma Kappa was established at Riddle in 2019, but no mistake, the sisters of Sigma Kappa have been blazing in their respective values of Personal Growth, Friendship, Service, and Loyalty.
For the last few weeks, the members of Sigma Kappa have been raising money for their main philanthropy, the Alzheimer's Association. They have done this through several mediums like tabling, personal fundraising, raffling off gift cards, and their newest fundraising competition, Sigma Kappa's Amazing Race to End Alzheimer's. The ERAU FSL community has a long-standing tradition of chapters' having their own unique fundraising competitions. They are an essential cornerstone that makes our community the highest fundraisers on the Daytona Beach Campus, raising over $130,000 in the 21-22 academic year. The Sigma Kappa sisters have made a significant impact with their philanthropy this year, and we know they will continue to do so.
This is only the second year that the Sigma Kappa chapter has done this event, and the second year proved to be a huge hit. With an array of back-to-back challenges, chapters compete to win the title of "King of Hearts & Queen of Hearts," which aligns with the Sigma Kappa open motto of "One Heart, One way."
The chapter has ended up raising over $14,250 thus far. The chapter still has one more important part of their philanthropy: participating in the 2022 Walk to End Alzheimer's in Volusia County on December 3rd. The chapter considers this an essential part of their philanthropy and takes personal pride in participating in the walk. Please visit their website if you want to participate in the walk with the chapter.
