We do the research the way the industry does research.
Each semester follows a 12-week research process where teams get together to conduct relevant research, build financial models, and develop a thesis towards the stock of a particular company. After the research is compiled, it is pitched in front of an investment committee that votes to approve the buy/sell/hold of the asset.
The point is not to be right about a stock. The point is to learn to build an argument that holds up when someone who knows more than you is trying to break it.

The club exists because its founders went looking for a place to do serious investment work on this campus and could not find one. So they built it.
This club was founded in late 2025 because its founders went looking for a place to do serious investment work and could not find it. This led to the rebranding of the club in Fall 2026.
The philosophy behind this club is that when students are given real responsibility to work as the industry does, they will rise to their responsibility and be best prepared for an excellent career when they graduate.
Research First
Primary sources only — filings, transcripts, investor materials. Unattributed data is grounds for tabling a pitch. Every number in a report traces back to a line in the model.
Defended, Not Presented
Fifteen minutes to present, ten to defend. Members are evaluated on the rigor of the process and the quality of the thesis — not on whether the stock happened to go up.
Original Work
AI may assist with formatting and grammar. Thesis development, investment arguments, and financial modeling are the analyst's own work. That line is not negotiable.
